Moving In
- Once your appointment has been announced, please be in touch with the Property Officer to arrange to see the house again should you wish to do so.
- Necessary internal works will be carried out prior to your arrival. External works may be deferred to coincide with the Quinquennial Inspection if this is due.
- Please contact the Property Officer to discuss property matters and to confirm your moving date.
- You will need to obtain 3 quotes for removals and the property department will need to have a copy of these before one can be accepted.
- Please contact the Property Officer to arrange for a qualified contactor to have the gas and electrics connected for your cooker.
- It is also essential that you inform the property office of the readings for water, gas, and electricity.
- Once you have moved in and are settled please can you make sure that the property office is supplied with the new landline telephone number if this is applicable.
- The Diocese is responsible for your council tax. Therefore, you will need to send any of this correspondence to the property office.
- Please remember to inform the property office of any changes in circumstances, which may affect the level of council tax i.e. single occupancy or disability etc.
- The Diocese will arrange for building insurance, however, it will be your responsibility to arrange contents insurance.
- A resettlement grant will be provided for those moving into a Diocesan property, and those who are moving into a first appointment will also be provided with an extra grant. These ae normally paid on confirmation of your appointment. Please contact the property office if further clarification is required.
