Welcome to Andy Brown

Andy Brown has joined Peterborough Diocese as its new Children & Youth Programme Lead, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a longstanding passion for youth ministry. Guided by the mission statement, “to equip the saved and to save the lost,” Andy has dedicated much of his life and ministry to helping young people discover and grow in their faith.

Throughout his career, Andy has had the privilege of seeing young people come into a relationship with God for the first time and develop into young adults who are faithful to God and growing in a life with Him. His passion for youth work stems from the opportunity to influence lives at a formative stage, providing support, encouragement and positive role models when they are needed most.

Andy’s own faith journey began at an early age. One of his earliest memories is of his mother praying with him when he was four years old, when he gave his life to God. Since then, he says he has "always known the love of God in his life." His involvement in youth ministry started while he was in sixth form, when he co-led his school’s Christian Union. This experience inspired him to pursue a degree in Theology after which he spent two years with Youth for Christ, where his passion for youth ministry continued to grow.

Andy later joined Blackburn Diocese, where he helped run the Launchpad and Youthscape Essentials programmes. These initiatives were designed to train and encourage both clergy and lay leaders in youth ministry, equipping them to better support young people in their churches and communities.

Looking ahead in his new role as Children & Youth Programme Lead for the Diocese Andy says

“I am looking forward to working with the CYPF team, meeting and working with clergy, youth workers and volunteers and having a vantage point to see what God is going to do in the lives our churches and young people across Peterborough Diocese.”
