DESCRIPTION:Created by Care for the Family\, Bereavement Care Awareness is training that aims to provide help and support for those are seeing people through a difficult time of bereavement. \n\n\n\nYou’ll come away with: \n•    A better knowledge of how bereavement affects people in different ways. \n•    An understanding of the grieving process. \n•    Ideas for the practical and emotional support you can offer someone in the weeks and months after the funeral. \n•    Practical skills to carry out supportive listening\, a key tool in bereavement support. \n•    Advice and tips on ways your church can support bereaved people in your community.  \n\n\n\nThrough experience\, Care for the Family have found that churches are welcoming this training as it provides a range of ideas for offering practical and emotional support. Each person will gain more confidence to walk towards someone who is hurting through bereavement rather than leaving it to someone else. Could you spare one night away for rest\, renewal\, and space with God during the week beginning 13 July 2026? \n\n\n\nAs part of RECOGNISE (6–12 July 2026) – the national week celebrating everyone involved in ministry with children\, young people and their families – we’re delighted to offer you a fully funded overnight retreat at Launde Abbey. This opportunity is completely free to you and to your church\, thanks to national funding. We simply want to gift you the time and care you deserve. \n\n\n\nArrive from 10:00am on your first day. You’ll have a full day of retreating\, overnight accommodation\, all meals provided\, and time to continue your retreat the next day until departure at 4:00pm. Please note that places are limited\, and bookings will be taken on a first‑come\, first‑served basis. \n\n\n\nYou’re welcome to take part in a guided wellbeing retreat led by our team\, or simply use the time to rest quietly\, spend time in your room\, enjoy the grounds\, and join us for meals. DESCRIPTION:A Sung Eucharist and Ordination led by the Archbishop of Canterbury will be held in Westminster Abbey to which all are welcome to attend. \n\n\n\nThe nomination of the Venerable Dr Alexander James Hughes\, Archdeacon of Cambridge\, in the Diocese of Ely\, to become the Suffragan Bishop of Brixworth\, was approved by HM The King\, in succession to the Right Reverend John Holbrook MA\, following his retirement. \n\n\n\nAlex was educated at Greyfriars Hall\, Oxford and St. Edmund’s College\, Cambridge and trained for ministry at Westcott House\, Cambridge. He served his title at Holy Trinity\, Headington Quarry\, in the Diocese of Oxford\, and was ordained priest in 2001. He was appointed Chaplain to the Bishop of Portsmouth in 2003. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPlease register for the Eucharist via the Eventbrite link above. Please then bring the Eventbrite ticket (s) generated following registration or bring an image of the ticket (s) on your phone for admission. \n\n\n\nYou can also register for other guests who might wish to attend with you. Entry will be from 9.45 am at the Abbey’s main Great West Doors and all those attending\, are requested to be seated by 10.45 am. \n\n\n\nSeating in the Transepts will be largely unallocated and allow for free general seating with a good view of proceedings\, offered on a first-come first-served basis. Seating will be reserved in the Lanterns for Bishops\, their spouses/partners and for robed clergy nominated by the Bishop-elect. \n\n\n\nIf you have special needs\, there is easy sloped access at the Great West Door and disabled facilities in the cloisters. DESCRIPTION:This course will take place at Bouverie Court\, 6 The Lakes\, Northampton\, NN4 7YD. \n\n\n\nThis bespoke leadership training is for anyone with PTO in the diocese. It is delivered over three hours\, face to face. Participants will reflect deeply on their own values and beliefs and combine these with the values and beliefs that are at the heart of good safeguarding behaviour. The idea is that good safeguarding behaviour can then flow from an inner motivation\, rather than it being experienced as an external process that must be followed. DESCRIPTION:Chaplaincy ministry lies at the very heart of our calling to be a Church present in the community.  Across our Diocese\, chaplains serve faithfully in a remarkable range of settings – among schools and colleges\, hospitals and healthcare environments\, prisons\, workplaces\, emergency services\, universities\, and communities on the margins. In each of these contexts\, chaplains offer a visible and compassionate Christian presence\, meeting people where they are\, often at moments of joy\, vulnerability\, transition\, and crisis. \nThrough this ministry\, the love of Christ is made known beyond the walls of our churches—reaching into the everyday lives of individuals and into the rich diversity of the communities we are called to serve. Chaplains accompany people of all faiths and none\, offering care\, listening\, wisdom\, and hope. The work is often unseen\, yet profoundly transformative\, building bridges\, deepening relationships\, and witnessing God in places where the Church might not otherwise be present. \nThis evening will be a chance to give thanks for all that our Chaplains offer\, to celebrate the varied expressions of chaplaincy across the Diocese\, and to encourage one another as we continue in this shared vocation. \n\nIf you are a chaplain and are able to attend\, complete this attendance form  so that we can plan appropriately for refreshments after the service.
