Saturday 11th June 2022 | Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers Annual General Meeting | The Guild's Annual General Meeting is taking place at the locations below: Open Ringing at Peterborough St Mary from 2pm, Open Ringing at Peterborough Cathedral from 2:30pm, Service Ringing at Peterborough St John from 3:30pm followed by tea at 4pm, then the AGM and evening ringing at 6pm. The towers are all in Peterborough, withing walking distance. It's suggested that parking should be in one of the town centre carparks, with the Wellington Road carpark, near St Mary’s being suggested. Chris Whittington is the founder of the School of Contemplative Life. He was introduced to meditation at the age of 19, during a period of formation at a Benedictine monastery, after which he studied at the Dalai Lama’s monastery in India. Chris regularly delivers talks, workshops and training across the UK, and has introduced meditation to the leaders and staff of hundreds of schools. Chris is also Head of Education Law at Anthony Collins Solicitors, a unique social purpose law firm working with schools, academies and dioceses across the country. 10:00 | Eco Churches Conference | The second national conference as part of the Sustaining God's Creation Initiative takes place on Saturday The conference will take place via Zoom, from 10.00am until 1.00pm. Anyone is welcome to attend but clergy, churchwardens, parochial church council members and churchgoers are particularly welcome. Amongst the keynote speakers and workshop leaders in 2022 will be Andy Atkins, CEO of A Rocha UK; Caroline Pomeroy, Director of Climate Stewards; Nigel Walter, a Specialist Conservation Architect; as well as representatives of Caring for God’s Acre, Christian Aid and others involved in aspects of the church’s environmental engagement. The programme has been put together by a steering group from the eastern cathedrals - Chelmsford, Ely, Norwich, Peterborough, St Albans and St Edmundsbury.
