Urban Church Support

We are here to help, with dedicated resources to help with mission and ministry within urban and outer estate housing. Through exploring your existing mission and ministry, and identifying new mission and discipleship opportunities we will help you to lead your church to growth.

There are engagement opportunities with local and national initiatives and networks working in urban contexts, for example the National Estate Churches Network , Children in Urban situations and Jesus Shaped People. We encourage engagement with matters of social justice and social responsibility and useful guidance and resources can be found through the Church Urban Fund

Meeting with clergy and parish teams to talk and pray , arranging gatherings with ministers, clergy and lay , arranging speakers with experience in mission and ministry in urban areas are all opportunities the mission and growth team can bring to help and support you in your ministry.

We strongly encourage all parishes to engage with Leading your Church into Growth. This is the training we see as the most significant training to help parishes think,  pray and act in ways which really do lead to growth. We commend this course to you and will support you through it.

Your primary contact to start the urban support conversations is Revd Roger Woods, through him you will be able to access the help support and resources of the mission and growth team. Roger remains grounded in parish work as half-time Anglican Vicar of Church on the Heath, an Anglican/Baptist LEP serving the Kings Heath estate on the North West of Northampton.
