Ways of Knowing in RE: practical approaches to RE from philosophy, theology and social sciences. This one day course will provide 16+ practical classroom ideas which illustrate the different ways of knowing in the subject which matter in inspections and in enabling pupils in creative connections, thoughtful progress and deeper learning. Fully resourced with digital and paper resources’. Led by Lat Blaylock.

This day course is aimed at primary teachers or leaders of RE who would like to be updated in their knowledge and skills for teaching Christianity, using the Understanding Christianity resource. RE leaders who trained some time ago would find this useful for upskilling their leadership of the resource and teachers who are new to teaching RE will find the day useful as they have opportunity to explore the rationale and approach to teaching using the resource.  Led by Ziggy Brown. The Archdeacons are hosting a day at St Giles, Northampton, to come together, explore the role of Churchwarden, offer up to date guidance, and provide opportunities for discussion and mutual support, as well as the answers to specific questions. The day is open to Churchwardens and can give a very good picture of what to expect when in office.

This network is for all who lead RE in primary schools. Join us for updates on national and local RE issues, opportunities to share good practice across schools and to hear from experts in the field of RE. The content of the meeting will be different each time.  Led by Ziggy Brown via Zoom.

A two day course to give middle leaders the right tools to fulfil their responsibilities. This first day will concentrate initially on effective leadership qualities, including the thinking exemplified by Stephen Covey. The session will then focus on what makes an effective curriculum with some exemplification. The day will conclude with opportunities for you to reflect on the ‘intent' for the subject you are responsible for by helping you to identify important strengths and next steps in the design. Participants should bring documentation linked to the subject for which they are responsible. It is essential that participants complete both days of training.  Led by Andrew Lakatos.
