The Diocese of Peterborough would like to provide more support for Churchwardens in caring for your buildings, and make the Faculty process easier to participate in and understand. Therefore, we are moving away from paper-based applications and onto the Church of England’s Online Faculty System (OFS).
OFS is now used by the majority of dioceses across England since its 2014 release. We will be providing training on a deanery-by-deanery basis starting with the deanery Corby on 12 February 2024, 1pm – 2pm. You will receive an invitation to your deanery's session.

The training will be held online via Microsoft Teams (a link will be emailed closer to your training date), this is to make it easier for everyone to attend, it will also help parishes to start identifying who may be most suited to undertake the training and be responsible for future Faculty and List B applications. If you are unable to attend your training date, please email emily.elliott@peterborough-diocese.org.uk. If you would prefer an evening session, training will be available between 7pm - 8pm on the dates shown below. Please make a booking via Eventbrite. The system is, like much of modern technology, intuitive and works similarly to a flow chart, through a series of questions it automatically identifies whether your application is a Faculty or List B. Better yet, it will let you know which documents are needed to start the process and keep you updated as to where your application is in the application process. Rest assured, you will still be able to contact our office with queries by email or phone in relation to the OFS, your church building and projects.
