A new MES cohort begin to explore what God is inviting them to next

At the beginning of September seven participants gathered together as the new Diocesan Ministry Experience Scheme cohort on a brilliant residential at Buckden Towers in St Neots.

The Ministry Experience Scheme offers an opportunity for young people (18-30) to experience life as part of a ministry team over the course of an academic year. The goal of the scheme is to give people experience, space, and the opportunity to explore what God is inviting them to next. There is also the chance for the whole Diocese to offer prayer and support to encourage personal, spiritual and vocational development. Haydon Spenceley, Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Director of Vocations and Formation said:

"In my experience these placements are a gift to the participant as well as the place that receives them. MES Participants being part of 'us' enriches us all. Please do pray for Bill, Chiaz, Daniel, Djin-Li, Kerensa, Liv-Astrid and Roisin as they settle in to life in this new season and pray that God would help them imagine an exciting and fruitful future. We hope to have lots of good news to share of their journeys in the months ahead."

There are a number of ways you can support those seeking this type of experience. If a year of this type excites you, or you know someone whom it would, contact Haydon who can guide you on the next steps.

Similarly, we are often looking for Churches to host potential participants. If you want to explore what it would mean to have a participant in your Church we would be glad to have that conversation with you too.

We do get applications from outside our Diocese, if you could possibly extend hospitality to a young adult exploring ministry please do be in contact.

Above all, please continue to pray for those in current MES cohort as they spend time considering how to answer God’s invitation.
