Manna House has been designated as the Bishop’s Charity for 2024. This incredibly worthwhile charity provides access to counselling and counsellor training irrespective of faith, background or ability to pay.
Every year the Bishop of Peterborough nominates a charity to help shine a light on the amazing work of those institutions that seek to help those at the margins of our society. Confirmation collections, and any donations received by the Bishops’ Office, will go to this nominated charity.
Manna House seeks to understand, sustain, enrich and transform lives by nurturing and promoting wellbeing, wholeness and recovery. They aim to do this through excellent counselling and therapeutic practice, training and research, expressing Christian service of hope, meaning and purpose. Their challenge is to maintain their centre in Northampton (currently costing £22,500 per calendar month) and to raise sufficient funds to further extend their services across the county and beyond.
