The Rushden and Higham Ferrers Council of Churches are bringing the ‘Illuminate’ tour to four secondary schools in Rushden, Raunds, Higham Ferrers, and Irthlingborough. The Christian electronic dance bands LZ7 and Saintz will be bringing their message of hope to one school each day, addressing themes each of the school leadership teams have identified. At the end of the week, there will be two concerts for a total of 600 teenagers, with a clear gospel message and the offer to ‘put Jesus in the driving seat of your life’. The bands are hugely popular with young people, communicating in their own language and at their level. After the tour, young people will be invited to a AAA (Access All Areas) follow-up and discipleship course.
The idea to bring the tour to the area was started by a couple of dads from Whitefriars Church, Rushden when they saw LZ7 at the Big Church Festival in 2022. They said, “Bringing the Illuminate Tour to our part of the world has been incredibly supported by all the local churches and especially blessed by God. The amount of collaborative work, prayer and resourcing continues to be an amazing demonstration of the Holy Spirit working through everyone here”.
The tour takes place on 4 – 9 March 2024.
