The Big Help Out is an opportunity for everyone to experience volunteering and get involved in helping make a difference in the place they live. Following the huge success of last years initiative, this year's Big Help Out will take place on the weekend of 7-9 June. This shines a spotlight on both the places that need volunteers as well as the many opportunities to lend a hand in your local community.
If your church would like to recruit more volunteers, (and which church wouldn’t!) you can register on the website to list your volunteering vacancies. This can be anything from churchyard gardening volunteers to youth workers. There is also a suggestion of running volunteer taster sessions so people can give it a go and find out more.
We know how crucial the work of our volunteers is and this national drive can only help to highlight the positive impact volunteering has on both the individuals and the communities they serve. If you’re not already serving in some capacity, maybe use this opportunity to ask how you can get involved.
Sign up to list your volunteering opportunities, taster events, or find out what is on offer in your area at The Big Help Out.
The Northamptonshire Community Foundation is keen to support churches that are taking part. If you are based in Northamptonshire and making plans fot The Big Help Out, let them know by emailing enquiries@ncf.uk.com.
