Diocesan Office in Peterborough receives Bronze Eco Church Award

The Diocesan Office in Peterborough has received a Bronze Eco Church Award. This means that both Bouverie Court in Northampton and the Diocesan Office in Peterborough have now made this important step on their Eco Church journey.

The Eco Church Award is an initiative of the Christian charity A Rocha UK and encourages those that manage churches and related buildings, such as diocesan offices, to care for the environment by offering bronze, silver and gold awards.  A small team at the Peterborough office worked to achieve the award by completing an online survey that identifies environmental actions already taken and helps decide what to tackle next.

There are now 29 awards of varying levels across the Diocese including one gold at All Saints Church in Kettering. It is hoped that this latest award will act as an encouragement to others.

The Eco Church Award is a helpful and engaging resource created by A Rocha UK. It focuses on assisting churches on their journey to net zero and is free of charge for parishes to use – find out more here.
