Baby Basics Northampton wants to ensure that every baby has a safe place to sleep and that each mother has the essentials she needs for the first weeks of a baby’s life. They help families in need by giving them a starter pack as a gift of God’s love, all wrapped-up in a Moses basket for the new baby to sleep in. Working with local health visitors, midwives, family workers, children centres and other agencies, starter packs are distributed to those most in need. This can include, but is not limited to, teenage mums, people seeking asylum and women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking.
Baby Basics Northampton was set up in 2013 by four mums who, with the support of their local church and community, volunteered their time to provide this valuable service predominantly to health care professionals. In over 10 years more than 1800 families have been helped to have a better start with their baby.
Why not look at ways in which your church community might be able to connect and support Baby Basics’ crucial work. Support can be offered in numerous ways including fundraising or donating items to fill a Moses basket. Why not consider giving an extra gift this Christmas?
