Training for TeachersNew Designated Safeguarding Leads (Schools)This training is the statutory single agency training required for a senior member of staff to become a Designated (or Deputy Designated) Safeguarding Lead in a school. Participants will look at the legislation and guidance that informs their role and will become familiar with local procedures in order to help safeguard the pupils in their setting. Only for DSLs working in Northamptonshire schools. Middle Leaders Training ProgrammeA two day course to give middle leaders the right tools to fulfil their responsibilities. This first day will concentrate on Ofsted expectations and set leaders up with tasks to ensure appropriate monitoring activities. It is essential that participants complete both days of training. Implementing the Understanding Christianity ResourceThis day is specifically for Primary Teachers who are new to using the Understanding Christianity resource, but whose school is already trained in this programme. Looked After Children TrainingA half day training session specifically designed for the Designated Teacher for Looked After Children. Developing Children's SpiritualityWhat does it mean to experience ‘life in all its fullness’? The day will give teachers opportunity to explore some answers to this question through engaging with the term ‘spiritual development’. We will also consider how Ofsted and SIAMS evaluate spiritual development and explore how schools can go about expressing a shared understanding of their approach to spiritual development which is now a SIAMS requirement. There will be opportunity to consider a range of approaches to spiritual development based on the National Church of England Education Office report ‘Interpretations of spiritual development in the classroom.’
