Is God calling you to offer spiritual care to older people?
Anna Chaplaincy is a ministry of being present with people, valuing their lives and listening to them on their spiritual journey, whether they have a faith or not.
This six-week online course for the Peterborough Diocese explores what Anna Chaplaincy offers older people, how it contributes to the mission of the church, and the different forms the ministry can take. You do not need to be committed to becoming an Anna Chaplain to take part. The skills may also help you in your current ministry.
The course takes place over six sessions taking place on Thursdays, 7.30pm – 9.30pm. All sessions will take place on Zoom.
- 7 January 2027 — Introducing Anna Chaplaincy
- 14 January — Living the second half of life
- 21 January — The spirituality of ageing
- 28 January — Spiritual care for people living with dementia
- 4 February — Chaplaincy skills in working with older people
- 11 February — Looking forward: the next steps
Each week includes preparatory reading and study, followed by a written reflection. Participants receive an Anna Chaplaincy Handbook. There is no final examination; a Certificate of Attendance is awarded after successful completion of the course tasks.
Above all, the course offers space to listen for God’s voice and reflect on where He may be leading you now.
