Ministry Experience Scheme Interns enjoy mid-year retreat

Our Diocesan Ministry Experience Scheme (MES) Interns recently spent three days on retreat in Buckden Towers (Cambridgeshire). As well as an opportunity to reflect on how God is shaping their ministry and calling, there were plenty of opportunities to rest, walk and cook together.

The Ministry Experience Scheme is a voluntary, flexible and action-packed internship year. It runs from the start of September through to the summer and includes monthly development days, lots of opportunities to meet and socialise with other interns including a launch residential and mid-year retreat, regular 1:1 meetings with a spiritual mentor and lots more.

Many people have commented on how my confidence has grown this year and I think this is due to the support we have had around us and how we have been encouraged to take those little extra steps along the way” Liv, Intern, Peterborough Deanery

A year ago I'd have never imagined myself leading services or preaching to congregations. I cannot wait to share the experience of this year with whoever asks me and I hope that I have shown that everything is possible through God who gives us strength!” Caty, Intern, St Andrew’s Kettering

Chad Chadwick, Diocesan Youth Mission Enabler said “It was such a blessing to spend three days with such a creative, humble and kind group of young adults. Their energy is infectious and their faith is inspiring”

If you have a sense of God's calling but are not sure where to start, the Ministry Experience Scheme could be the perfect way to explore a future in ministry without committing to forever.  Find out more here.
