The Diocesan Environmental Policy
In March 2021 the Peterborough Diocesan Synod committed to becoming net carbon zero by 2030. This commitment includes all areas of Diocesan life: parish churches; church halls; C of E primary schools; clergy housing; land management; and central offices. Within the Diocesan Environmental Policy, you will be able to find out more details about what the roles and responsibilities of each of these areas of life are.
The Model Parish Environmental Policy
While you are exploring ways in which you are going to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, you may wish to create a Parish Environmental Policy. The model policy document below is a template, intended as a starting point. Please do feel free to download the document and amend the content so that it is appropriate for your parish context.
