The Diocese of Peterborough has more than 360 churches. Many of them are protected as listed buildings in recognition of their special architectural or historic interest. All buildings require regular maintenance and occasional repairs, but when managed correctly they can be a real asset to your mission. With some vision, planning and sensitivity, these much-loved buildings can be welcoming, flexible spaces in regular use by the church and a focus for the wider community. This section provides information on several key topics relating to the management and upkeep of your church building and graveyard. Contact the Historic Churches Support Officer, Jon Breckon, for general advice and guidance, or if you are developing a church building project. A site visit can be arranged as necessary. In addition, Open Surgeries are periodically held around the diocese. These are a chance for a one-to-one chat about your building or churchyard. |
