We are delighted to welcome Amie Freeman to our Safeguarding Team in the role of Safeguarding Learning Development and Case Officer.
Amie joins us from the Northamptonshire Police Service where she served for 22 years as a member of police staff, including periods as a Detention Officer in the Police Custody Unit, supporting crime investigations as a Civilian Investigator and working alongside the East Midlands Special Operations Unit and National Crime Agency as a Cyber Protect and Prevent Officer.
During her time with the force, Amie gained a wealth of experience in Safeguarding, having worked with the Child Protection, Child Sexual Exploitation, Domestic Abuse, Adult Safeguarding and Sexual or Violent Offender Teams as a Safeguarding Officer. In this role she delivered and facilitated training sessions both for the police and for associated organisations such as the NHS or local community groups and in the education sector.
Amie is delighted to have joined the Diocesan Safeguarding Team working with Carole and Angie and is looking forward to delivering safeguarding training, traveling around the Diocese visiting parishes and meeting members of the church community. “There is some excellent safeguarding work taking place across the Diocese and I am keen to develop this further and be able to provide Parish Safeguarding Officers with support and guidance” she says.
Amie lives in Northampton with her partner Max and enjoys live comedy, theatre, travel, keeping fit, reading crime fiction and socialising with friends.
