Welcome to Victoria Kellett

We are delighted to welcome Victoria Kellett to our Safeguarding Team in the role of Diocesan Safeguarding Officer.

Victoria joins us after working most recently as a Registered Manager and Head of Care for a residential therapeutic community for teenage boys with harmful sexual behaviours.

Her career began in the probation service where she had opportunities to undertake many roles in addition to case and court work and she spent time as a Quality Development Officer, delivering training to staff and supporting newly qualified Probation Officers. A short secondment with HM Inspectorate of Probation as an Area Assessor led her to work with steering groups in relation to the criminal justice response to female offenders. She then moved over into a specialist Public Protection team leading on the work with high-risk sexual offenders, those on life sentences and terrorism charges. In 2013 she was asked to lead on work with sexual offenders and set up a probation service in the small British Overseas Territory of St Helena in the South Atlantic Ocean. After 4 years this project was handed over and Victoria remained on St Helena and began work as Manager of the Adults Social Work and Social Care Team before taking on the role of Assistant Director of Safeguarding and Social Care whilst also delivering civil service leadership training and coaching across the government departments. After 10 years on St Helena, Victoria made the move back to the UK to be closer to her family.

Victoria is delighted to have joined the Diocesan Safeguarding Team saying “Throughout my career, safeguarding has been a consistent thread and I have seen the power of it being done well in support of children and young people who are able to flourish and grow. I am excited to join the Diocese and continue the good work that Angie, Amie and others have started to build a safe Church experience for all’.

Victoria lives in Cambridge with her husband and young son. She loves to travel and explore new places and cultures with her family and they have exciting plans to visit Norway later this year and China and Japan in the future.
