Parish Support Hub

The Diocesan teams and external organisations are here to support you.  They will be available in the Parish Support Hub during the workshop times of 2-3.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. Resources will be available in the Hub all day on Tuesday and Wednesday. 

 

Gen2 Team

Pete White, Chad Chadwick and Charlotte Nobbs will have a range of resources to browse in the hub but the team will be available to talk with you at any time (almost!). They are hoping to book in some dates to visit your area/deanery in the new year so if you’d appreciate that, bring your diary.

Please look out for their colourful postcards on growing intergenerational mission and ministry.

Vocations & Formation team

David Morton will be in the Parish Support Hub to answer questions you may have for opportunities for training and development for you, your ministry teams and for people in your parishes.

We will be delighted to explore what God might be inviting you to next.

Safeguarding

Victoria Kellett will be offering people an opportunity to talk; about issues you may be facing in your parishes, things that are working well for you and general queries about safeguarding.

No fancy presentations or materials…this is an opportunity to connect and talk about how we can together, ensure effective safeguarding practices across the Diocese.

Generous Giving

Pete Squires will be on hand to discuss and look at. Stewardship campaigns, Contactless giving devices, QR codes, Parish Giving Scheme, monthly giving, treasurer support, legacy or indeed anything stewardship for your Church.

The Diocesan Advisory Committee

Do you want to understand the faculty process better and discover what the Diocesan Advisory Committee is and how it works? Come and chat to Nolan Robson, the chair of the committee, where you can find out why some projects take so long and how to make sure your faculty applications have the greatest chance of success.

Administration, Pastoral Reorganisation & Data Protection

Do you have questions about GDPR, data or Diocesan policies and procedures? Sue Ratcliffe will be available in the Hub to answer them. 

Net Zero

(Tuesday only)

Adam Clarke, the Diocese’s new net zero carbon programme manager, will be available to discuss your hopes, fears and ideas about climate change and how it relates to the Church of England.

He will be able to point you towards information and resources and where appropriate he will be happy to arrange follow up meetings to help take forward your net zero carbon ambitions

Historic Churches

(Wednesday only)

The Churches Support Officer, Jon Breckon,  can advise on grant funding for church buildings, churchyards and wider community schemes. Advice and practical help with the care, maintenance and repair of church buildings and churchyards is available. In addition, I can offer an initial steer for reordering and church building development schemes, assist with finding the right professionals to support you, and help you to plan for decarbonisation projects

Spiritual Direction

Judy Craig Peck will be in the Hub on behalf of the Fellowship of Spiritual Directors. She woud love to walk to you about spiritual direction, what it is and how to access this ministry.

Judy would also like to meet those currently undertaking Spiritual Direction who are not  part of the Fellowship of Spiritual Directors and anyone thinking about becoming a Spiritual Director.

USPG

Elizabeth Taylor from USPG – Partners in Global Mission will be in the Parish Support Hub to speak about the work of the Society, its partnership with the church in many countries and how churches in this country might engage with them.

USPG also offer a number of study courses with sessions of up to six weeks, originally designed for use in Advent or Lent, though suitable for use at any time of the year.

Clergy Support Trust

(Tuesday only)

Ben Cahill Nicholls will be running a drop in session for anyone who wishes to find out more about the support the Trust offers, or to discuss anything arising from his morning session as one of our Guest Speakers. 

National Ministry Team

(Wednesday only)

Nick McKee is the National Director for Ministry for the Church of England and will be on hand to discuss anything arising from his morning session as one of our Guest Speakers. 

Chaplaincy

(Wednesday only)

Thinking of becoming a chaplain? Already a chaplain and fancy a chat? Pop by and talk things through with Helen Dearnley 

Launde Abbey

Alison Myers and Chris Webb will be available to chat over coffee, make connections and talk about how Launde Abbey can support you. 

Communications

Jo Tinker will be available outside of workshop hours when she will be able to answer any questions you may have about communications whether thats producing a good poster, speaking to the press or getting the best from your social media. 

During the workshop hours, join Jo and Shakeel in Derbyshire 7 to find out why good comms matters and how to do it easily. 

Mission

What would make 2025 your best year yet?  How can the Mission Team help you to make 2025 your best year in ministry – come and let Charlie Nobbs and Dave Battison know, eat chocolates and see some great resources including two great prayer courses to inspire your people in prayer in 2025.

Mothers Union

Deborah Marsh, President of the Diocesan Mothers Union would be delighted to meet you and dicuss how the MU can support your clergy and communities. 

Cursillo

Anglican Cursillo is a movement of the Church providing a method by which Christians are empowered to grow through prayer, study and action and enabled to share God’s love with everyone.

DSAV

DSAV are our AV partners for the conference and are dedicated to the design and installation of professional audio-visual solutions for churches.  Based in Peterborough Diocese, near Kettering they offer services in audio, visual, streaming, networking and lighting solutions.
