Church of England Resources and the Safeguarding E-manual

If you are looking for the “Promoting a Safer Church” or “Safe Spaces” posters, for template risk assessments, consent forms, registration forms, safeguarding checklists or an example safeguarding policy, these can be found on this Church of England Templates and Resources page.

The Church of England Safeguarding E-manual is available online here.  The following sections are the ones which will be most applicable to the majority of parishes in the Diocese of Peterbrough:

The Parish Safeguarding Toolkit

Responding Well to Victims and Survivors of Abuse

Safer Recruitment and People Management Code of Practice

Safeguarding Guidance for Local Ecumencial Partnerships

We often receive queries around the use of Social Media in parish life.  The Church of England has a range of resources for safely using social media and understanding what some of the risks may be, which can be accessed here.

If I told you, what would you do?

This is a strategy jointly funded by Safe Spaces and the Diocese of Newcastle, which aims to engage with the survivors of faith-based abuse and those who need to respond well to them.  More information about the strategy, and its resources, are available here.

Bell Ringers in the Diocese of Peterborough

In conjunction with the Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Church Bellringers, the Diocesan Safeguarding Team have produced guidance for the requirements for safeguarding for all who wish to ring in the towers across the diocese.  The most recent version of the guidance can be downloaded here.
