From 27 November to 2 December a Christmas prayer space was held in St Mary’s Church, Burton Latimer.
Bishop Debbie was confirmed as the 39th Bishop of Peterborough in a special service at Lambeth Palace on Wednesday 13 December.
The House of Bishops have commended the use of the Prayers of Love and Faith in regular worship or private prayer from Sunday 17 December. They have also published pastoral guidance which sets out how they can be used.
The annual Explore Day is an informal occasion for those who feel God may be calling them to serve in the church.
Ownership of the Parish Giving Scheme is transferring to the National Church and from 1 January 2024, the regular giving service will be freely available to all parishes throughout the Church of England.
At our Clergy Study Day in November, we were treated to a recital of a poem written especially for the occasion by Breannah Holton, the Kings School Poet Laureate.
A host of angels took residence inside St Mary’s Church, Higham Ferrers between 17 – 19 November, alongside stalls and refreshments for visitors. All proceeds went towards the St Mary’s 600 Appeal which is raising money for the restoration of the Bede House.
January 2024 sees the PDG celebrate its 100th anniversary and they have a series of events planned across the year to ensure the anniversary is celebrated in style.
Bishop John licensed the Revd Mike Corcoran as Lead Chaplain at Kettering General Hospital on 10 November.
Manna House has been designated as the Bishop’s Charity for 2024. This incredibly worthwhile charity provides access to counselling irrespective of faith, background or ability to pay.
